The beginning of Hua-Shih College of Education

Hua-Shih College of Education was established on August 1st, 2005, with the school name Hualien School of Education. Due to the decision to join National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), the school has become a part of NDHU, named Hua-Shih College of Education, since August 1st, 2008. The college has altered from purely teacher training to cultivating diverse education-related professions, which is the goal of the college, supporting to deal with the competitiveness of the educational market.

The College’s status

Hua-Shih College of Education has primarily contributed to the reputation of NDHU as its unseparated part in expanding NDHU domestically and internationally. These goals can only be achieved by cooperation among colleges. Like other colleges, the College of Education needs to accumulate tremendous potential to gain a higher reputation in the professional community. Specifically, the cooperation among colleges can be presented the support from other colleges regarding human and material recourses, which increases the opportunities to become the top among other educational colleges in Taiwan. Moreover, the college also expects to make a meaningful contribution to the process of Educational Reform in Taiwan. Despite comparativeness in the education market, Hua-Shih College of Education aims to cooperate with other colleges under NDHU and other educational colleges nationwide for the shared goal of Taiwan's development and prosperity.

Departments of the College

Hua-Shih College of Education includes five departments. In accordance with the new direction of integrating departments and the institution, restructuring the college will enable the potential development of organizations in the next two or three years. There will be more cooperation and knowledge exchanges among facilities’ members in teaching and research but among undergraduate and graduate students.

Further Development

Hua-Shih College plans to focus on three primary goals: teaching, research, and services to map the college's future development. In particular, we hope that all fields of education will be responsible for creative and unique professors from the college. Moreover, students who graduate from Hua-Shih college can be successful and confident in their future career.
